Project brief description:

Urban Upgrading Project Haiphong was one of four sub-projects under Urban Upgrading Project Vietnam is done with the support of the World Bank. The project encourages the active participation of the community and actively to the process of selection of design options to suit the needs of their community.

In order to further support the implementation of Phase 1 and to make preparations for the design and implementation of Phase 2 of the project, the project has provided the opportunity to enhance institutional and capacity building for all parties involved in the project. Including technical assistance program training staff and local authorities are involved in community subprojects Haiphong

The objective of the work of the technical support is: Prepare outline and implement training programs, including the preparation of documents for the training of local government officials (District Committee and Ward), the mass organizations and leaders of the community are being upgraded in phases 1 & 2 of the project to ensure the participation deeper into the planning, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure will be provided later.

Describe the services which Consulting contractor performs:

Identifying needs and planning the training;

Designing a training program, and the organization of training courses for government officials representing District Ward and community engagement projects;

Technical assistance, including:

Provides students with the basic knowledge of counseling methods that have a community participation in urban planning and urban upgrading;

Helps students understand the importance and methods of community consultation in the planning process and decision making;

Helping students recognize the role of stakeholders in the public consultation and understand the contents of the process of community participation during the planning and implementation Vietnam Urban Upgrading - sub-project in Ho Chi Minh City;
